This higher water level causes hydrostatic pressure to be exerted underneath basement floors and against basement walls. Hydrostatic pressure forces water in through the cracks in foundation walls, through openings caused by expansion and contraction of the footing-foundation wall joint and up through floor cracks. Hydrostatic pressure can cause major structural damage to foundation walls and is likely to contribute to mould, decay and other moisture related problems and result in the need for basement waterproofing to be undertaken.

In the event of pre-existing basement walls, Mainline’s Basement Waterproofing provides a permanent solution to seal basement walls and floors with pressure injecting a polyurethane resin through the wall or floor creating an impenetrable waterproof membrane to the external surface of the wall. This waterproofing process eliminates the need for excavation, which can be very costly and in some cases, may be impossible to undertake.
